Career Corner: SLU Connect Boston Applications Now Open!

Applications are now open for the final SLU Connect trip of the year! The trip will take place during Senior Week from May 15-19, and applications are due by 4 p.m. on Friday, March 17. 

SLU Connect is a career exploration event that exposes students to a variety of industries and individuals. Applications are open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors, and students will be selected though a competitive application process. Selected students will attend career panel discussions and take part in industry site visits, all hosted by Laurentians. A networking event will also afford students opportunities to speak directly with Laurentians across multiple career fields. 

Our trip to Boston will feature two “tracks” students can follow: a business and communications cross-industry track and a heath care and research track.  

The cost to attend is 350 dollars, which includes hotel accommodations, some meals, and transportation to and from scheduled events. Transportation to and from Boston, additional meals, personal transportation during the program, hotel incidentals, and parking are not included. 

The Center for Career Excellence does have limited funding to help students cover costs associated with the program. Students can apply for financial aid as part of the application process. 

In order to apply, students simply need to upload a completed application form, their resume, and a one-page letter of interest outlining how you believe the program will further your career development and how your participation will contribute to the group experience to the “job” application on Handshake. 

Several Information sessions will be held over the next few weeks; log on to Handshake and search through the events for a full list of dates and times.
