What inspired you to start skiing?
I would say that my parents loved skiing so much and wanted to share that experience with me, so they immediately put me on skis. Then they put me and my other two brothers into ski racing programs when we were able to because we were high-energy children, and my dad ski raced at CU Boulder, so he wanted to share that with us. I then developed my own passion and drive for the sport and became obsessed with it and the feeling it gave me, which is how I got to where I am today.
Why did you choose to attend St. Lawrence?
There were a few different factors that influenced my decision. The main reason was that I was fully committed to ski racing at a Division I ski school, and SLU was the best opportunity all things considered. I knew I wanted a small school with a sense of a strong community and the opportunity to form personal
connections with peers and faculty members. My mom also went to SLU and I remember hearing her wonderful memories growing up so I knew it would be a good fit for me.
What is your favorite team memory?
My favorite team memory was just a few weeks ago when my teammate Kobe Villeneuve placed second in the St Micheals carnival at Smugglers Notch. We all ran to him hugging him after his performance and I will say some tears were shed. This showed us our upward progression on the ski circuit and how
our hard work is paying off. It was a positive turning moment for the team and I am so grateful I was able to be a part of it.
How has your season been going?
My season was wonderful! I finished up my ski racing career this past weekend and I could not have asked for a better season. I had so much fun skiing for SLU this year and was in a clear joyful mental state which showed in my physical performance. I skied the best season at SLU achieving results I hadn’t done
before. Another aspect of this season that helped me excel was the support of my teammates and how close we all are.
