If your Spring Break plans don’t include a trip to the beach or a multitude of games with your team in Florida, you might be asking yourself, “What can I do to be productive over Spring Break?”

“How about a micro-internship?”

Micro-internships are short-term, PAID, professional assignments that are similar to those given to new hires. These projects enable students to demonstrate skills, explore career paths, and build their networks. Unlike traditional internships, micro-internships can take place year-round, typically range from Five to 40 hours of work, and are due between one week and one month after kick-off.

The best way to explore various career paths is by doing the work that you’d do as an employee, and micro-internships are low-stakes opportunities to get your feet wet in various career fields. In addition to learning about career fields, you’ll also gain valuable information about company culture and the types of working environments where you thrive.

Micro-internships help build your resume with real-world, practical experience. They can also help you build your network, and in some cases, may lead to summer internship opportunities or a full-time job offer.

The process is simple! You create a profile, check out the available micro-internships, and apply for the ones that interest you. When you’re selected for a micro-internship, you work directly for the company requesting the work. You will be paid directly by Parker Dewey once your project is complete.
