Floyd “Money” Mayweather, known as the kahuna of boxing, has retired but doesn’t know if he is ready to quit the fighting game altogether. Mayweather is now considering stepping out of retirement and into the octagon of MMA fighting. If he decides to throw on the gloves again, it will be in a UFC fight and most likely against renowned world-champion Connor McGregor.
Floyd Mayweather is already picking a fight against his former quarry Connor McGregor. Last time around, Mayweather knocked McGregor out cold in the tenth round of the fight in a light weight boxing match, where they both weighed 154 pounds. If Mayweather decides to fight in the UFC, on McGregor’s turf, the amount of public interest alone would be worthwhile for the fighters and networks. The match is not coming on Direct-TV anytime soon because of recent misconduct committed by McGregor, but Mayweather is still arousing many questions with his comments about the Irish fighter on social media and his interest in being a MMA fighter.
Floyd Mayweather is one of the wealthiest athletes in the world who has intentions to keep competing. The man loves money, but with already almost $600 million in the bank and an undefeated record, why does he feel the need to push another fight? Mayweather said in an interview that “McGregor has stuff to deal with, but I can do what I want, when I want, and how I want to.” He has been talking to networks that want that fight to happen, but is the potential to make another small fortune worth the trouble for Mayweather? His manager certainly doesn’t think so, but Mayweather wants to come out of retirement, and he thinks fighting in UFC vs. Connor McGregor is the best way to do it. Seeing that Mayweather is on board and that McGregor is easily provoked, we could certainly see this fight in the near future.
