Meet the Fall 2022 Hill News Editors
The Hill News welcomes a new team of editors for Fall 2022. Learn more about some of this semesters’ members!
Alexandra Hill, originally from Los Angeles, California, is a senior at SLU triple majoring in English, French, and mathematics with a minor in statistics. Having done yearbook in high school, she knew she wanted to pursue publication at SLU, so she began writing for the News and Opinions sections her freshman Fall. She became Opinions Editor, and then Managing Editor the following year. Now, as Editor-in-Chief, she hopes to foster a team of passionate editors and writers who reveal injustices, pressing issues, and noteworthy accomplishments occurring on our campus.
Gabrielle Aldrich ’24 is the chief copy editor and the Arts & Entertainment section editor of The Hill News. She is double majoring in sociology and economics and is pursuing a minor in English. She started as a copy-editor in the fall of her sophomore year after taking Intro to Journalism. In the past, Gabrielle was also the Senior Editor for the St. Lawrence chapter of Her Campus. Currently, Gabrielle lives in the Habitat for Humanity theme house, where she is an active volunteer and theme coordinator. On campus, you can probably find Gabrielle enjoying a cup of coffee with a book in hand.
Rebecca Caron ‘23 is one of The Hill News’ digital editors. Rebecca just recently started working for THN and is very excited to be a part of the team! She is double majoring in Communications and Business and minoring in Sports Exercise and Science. Rebecca is a member and captain of the Saint’s Alpine Ski Team and a member of TriDelta. Rebecca lives in New Hampshire and enjoys the simplicity and outdoors that Canton has to offer.
Ian Clark ‘24, is a current Junior from Vermont. Majoring in Government with a dual minor in History and Global Studies, Ian gravitated towards the Hill News due to his own academic research. Understanding news, media, and much more in relation to government, Ian decided to join the team as an Opinion Editor.
Maggie Green ’23, is a new member of The Hill News, joining the team as a digital editor. She is a communications major and a global studies minor. Maggie lives in Dover, MA, is a captain of the field hockey team, a member of the women’s lacrosse team, and a member of Delta Delta Delta on campus! When she is not playing sports or working for The Hill News, Maggie loves skiing, the outdoors, and SLU.
Jenny L’Hommedieu ’23 is the Chief Digital Editor for The Hill News. She is from Columbus, OH, and is a captain on the varsity field hockey team. She is a philosophy and business double major with a public health and sociology double minor. Jenny studied abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark this last spring and cherished the opportunity to travel around Europe! Jenny is involved with admissions and the sorority Delta Delta Delta on campus as well. She is an avid Dana fan and loves long Dana and Pub sits with friends.
Nelson Oxley ’23 is a senior on the Alpine Ski Team. He is from Tabernash, CO, and in the summer spends his time guiding fly fishing around the west coast. Nelson also works for a digital magazine company called Flylords as an editorial content member. If interested in viewing them, Nelson’s published articles can be found on Instagram or in Flylords’ magazine!
Jessica Tom ’24 is one of The Hill News’ news editors. Although she has written for The Hill News in the past, this is her first time on the team, and she is excited to start! She is double majoring in Global Studies and Psychology. However, after taking Intro to Journalism and interning at NCPR, Jessica is interested in pursuing a career in journalism. She is from Honolulu, Hawaii, and she is excited to be studying abroad in Japan next semester.
The Hill News is also looking for writers for our different sections—news, features, opinions, arts and entertainment, and sports. To participate, students can sign up at club fair, or by contacting one of the editors.
