Meet The Spring ‘25 Editorial Team!

Matt Serrano ’27 is the Editor-In-Chief of The Hill News. He is majoring in Environmental Science and plans on doing the combined major with biology. He is from Andover, Massachusetts and has been an editor with The Hill News since his sophomore year. On campus he is also a member of the cross country and track teams. In his free time he likes to ski, fly fish, and get outside.

Nora Kenyon ’27 is a managing editor of The Hill News. She is from Allentown, Pennsylvania. Kenyon is majoring in Psychology with a minor in English on the creative writing track. Kenyon has been part of THN since her first year at SLU, originally joining as a news editor. When she is not studying, Kenyon enjoys reading historical fiction novels, spending time outside, and doing odd arts and crafts in her dorm room.

Noah Donnellan-Doser ’26, as known by D2, is a managing editor of The Hill News. He is from Wenham, Massachusetts and has been with THN since his sophomore fall semester. As an English and Digital Media & Film major, D2 spends most of his free time reading, writing, or watching 1960s New Hollywood films about tattered marriages. He resides as a stowaway in Java where he tends to his girlfriend.

Benjamin Roach ’25 is a News Editor for The Hill News. He is majoring in Political Science with a minor in Canadian Studies. He is from West Hartford, CT and has been an editor for The Hill News since his junior year. On campus, he is a member of the Cross Country and Track and Field Teams and also is a violinist in the university orchestra.

Taiyara Nudrat ’26 is a News Editor for The Hill News. She hopes to pursue a career in international law within the next few years. Taiyara is famous for hating work, but has somehow managed to push through her years at SLU relatively unscathed. She enjoys reading and board games. She also likes spending the little time she has left here with her best friends, and can be found anywhere on campus (but mostly in Fox Hall).

Poppy Hanson ’25 is the Opinions Editor for The Hill News at SLU, where she’s majoring in Political Science with a minor in Philosophy. Originally from Branford, Connecticut, Poppy joined THN as a sophomore and has been with the publication ever since. Outside of her editorial work, she works for The Underground, SLU’s student-run research magazine, and serves as the concert co-chair for ACE. When she’s not focused on academics or extracurriculars, Poppy enjoys spending time with friends, staying busy with work, or applying to jobs for after she graduates.

Olivia Barbera ’27 is the Features Editor for the Hill News at St. Lawrence, where she is pursuing a double major in English and Public Health. Coming from Newburyport, Massachusetts, Olivia has been a dedicated member of the THN since her sophomore fall, when she joined the editorial board as the Arts & Entertainment Editor. In addition to her editorial role, Olivia is a member of the Women’s Cross Country and Track and Field Team. Outside of her academic and extracurricular activities, Olivia enjoys sitting in Stu, listening to music, skiing, reading, and going on aimless drives!

Carson Hanna ’27 is the Arts & Entertainment editor for The Hill News. Last semester, he was the editor for the Features section. Coming from Malone, New York, he is double majoring in Psychology and Political Science, pursuing a path in the law field. Excited to be sharing news from the art-related world, he looks to campus events, local events, as well as worldwide events for inspiration. Outside of school and work, Hanna enjoys skiing, hiking, listening to music, and watching movies.

Matthew Taylor ’25 is the Sports Editor of The Hill News, a role he has had since the fall of 2022 He is a Government and History double major, and a diehard Buffalo Bills and New York Knicks fan. He is a captain of the SLU XC team and a member of the Track & Field team. You can often find him running around Canton and hanging out with friends at Dana and the Student Center.

Alden Timm ’25 is the Chief Photographer for The Hill News. He loves telling stories through photography and creative writing. Growing up in Maine, Alden developed a strong connection to nature and the outdoors, which continues to inspire his work. This spring, Alden will graduate from St. Lawrence University with a degree in English and Digital Media and Film. In his free time, Alden enjoys fishing, skiing, and exploring Northern New York.

Suzy L’Hommedieu ’25 is a co-chief digital editor and distributor for The Hill News. She is from Columbus, Ohio, and is majoring in economics and environmental studies with a minor in sports studies & exercise science. L’Hommedieu is a captain of the varsity field hockey team and a member of the women’s lacrosse team at SLU. She loves being outdoors and hanging out with friends, so you may see her around the townhouses when the weather is nice!

Emma Kahle ’26 is the co-chief digital editor for The Hill News. She is from Wilton, Connecticut, and attended Deerfield Academy, a small boarding school in Western Massachusetts. Kahle is double majoring in English major on the creative writing side and Digital Media & Film with a minor in European Studies. She joined The Hill News her first year at St. Lawrence as a digital editor after taking an Intro to Journalism class in the fall. Kahle is a member of the women’s squash team and the Kappa Delta Sigma sorority on campus. Kahle loves spending time with friends, writing, and playing the guitar!

Erin Harty ’25 is a returning digital editor for The Hill News from Bowdoinham, Maine. She is a combined environmental studies and psychology major with minors in creative writing, education, and outdoor studies. Harty is on the editorial board for the Underground and volunteers with Campus Kitchens. She is also a guide for the Outdoor Program and is passionate about spending time outdoors, whether that be skiing, hiking, or walking on the Saddlemire trail with friends!

Alin Brdar ’28 is the Digital Media Editor for The Hill News at SLU, where she is hoping to pursue a major in Finance and a minor in Political Science. She is a UWC East Africa Alumni from Koper, Slovenia and she has recently become a member of THN, writing various articles throughout her first semester at SLU. She is also a member of the Senate in the Thelomathesian Society and the Social Media Manager for the African Student Union. Apart from her extracurricular activities, Alin is passionate about kickboxing, a sport that has been in her life since she can remember.
