Annual ED7K fast Approaching
On Saturday, April 22, Nature Up North is hosting its annual Earth Day 7K Trail Run/Walk. The event is Nature Up North’s biggest event and fundraiser of the year, and you’re not going to want to miss out!
The event will be held at the Wachtmeister Field Station, just past the bridge on the left. This is where you can register and where the run will start. The course will consist of the Kip and Saddlemire trails, leading to the back of campus, behind the freshman dorms, around the townhouses, and back to the field station.
You can register for the event the day of, or online at natureupnorth.org. The running will commence at 9:00 am and the start time for those wanting to walk the course will be a little earlier at 8:30 am. Be sure to get there early so you have plenty of time to register and stretch before the start.
The race will be complete will refreshments and raffle prizes donated by local businesses. Additionally, the event will conclude around 11:30 am, so you don’t have to worry about missing out on Spring Fest!
This year will mark the seventh annual Earth Day 7K put on by Nature Up North, one of the only trail runs in the area, and caters to anyone looking to spend some time outdoors this Earth Day. Whether you’re hungry for competition or just looking to take a walk on a (hopefully) nice spring day, all are welcome.
Aurora Hager ’23 said, “My sister ran last year and had a great time, and it supports a great organization here on campus, so I can’t wait to run this year.” The race is open to all members of the community, especially students. Director of Nature Up North Kayla Edmunds added, “We really like to get students involved.”
Edmunds also said, “We are a community organization, and we are in a unique position where we can draw on both the campus community, and local community. And we especially love to see student engagement with our events because we are primarily student driven, and if we can inspire someone to join our team, that’s awesome.”
