Environmental Tip of the Week
Students have cars on campus all year round. However, not everyone has this privilege, and it isn’t necessarily a good thing, nor a necessity.
The United States could save 33 million gallons of gas each day if the average commuting vehicle carried one additional person. Given this information, it’s time for SLU to get on the carpooling bandwagon – bandwagoning, ironically, also a form of carpooling.
Thelmo has set up a SLU Rides Facebook group in which students can share travel information and request rides from their peers. So, if you’re looking for a ride home for break, or you’re weighing whether or not to bring your car to school next semester, check it out.
If you don’t have a Facebook, keep your eyes out for a SLU Rides app, one of the Environmental Action Organization’s most recent initiatives set to take off next year.
