What is the POWER House?
Residing on the edge of campus, the POWER House is one of the many theme houses on campus and is currently accepting new applicants. As one of the smaller houses, many students have questions about what it is we do here at the POWER House. But that is what I am here to answer!
The POWER House is centered around healthy living and physical activity. While not all the residents are student athletes, we are all dedicated to being active in any way we can! All the residents are very supportive and open to trying a wide array of physical activities. We do our best to help each other remain healthy, both physically and mentally.
Typically, the events hosted by the POWER House involve getting up and moving! This includes hikes on nearby trails, morning swims, group runs, and short skiing trips. We make a big point to be inclusive during our events, so we make sure that activity is kept to a manageable pace for everyone involved! The POWER House also hosts some less physical events, such as watch parties for various sports games and movies.
Our events are not limited to just our house either; the POWER House frequently partners with other theme houses for events of all shapes and sizes! We can often be seen crossing over with Habitat for Humanity for collaborative events. We do our best to promote physicality and activity not just within our house but others as well!
We here at the POWER House are super excited to see what the future holds for the house, and with the housing deadlines on the horizon, we are opening our doors to all potential applicants! Be on the lookout for our recruitment events, such as our upcoming open house! Applications are currently live, so get up and submit one today!
