The Business Council
It is no secret that American democracy is falling apart. From rampant government spending to a near collapse in the banking system, our government is a failure. American democracy has delegitimized itself. However, there are still many things that make America great. For example, Americans still have an enduring work ethic, and the workaholic culture still embodies Corporate America. However, this asset is limited by the free market to purely the business sphere. Therefore, why should the most productive part of our country, Corporate America, be limited to the free market? Instead of limiting the greatest asset our country has to offer, we should fully embrace it—meaning that the United States should dissolve its government and replace it with a Corporate State.
Such a new system would be highly democratic and turn America into a true meritocracy. Each American now votes based on the industry they work for or the occupation they have, not based on class, identity, race, or religion. Government representation and voting patterns would be based on the one thing that matters in life: money. Also, it would reduce the polarization in the United States with officials now representing corporations, not big-tent political parties. At the same time, representatives would be elected for good reasons. For example, the congressman of American plumbers would be relatable to his constituents and understand what they live through because he is a plumber. At the same time, merit would, at last, rise to the top. For example, presidential candidates would be required to be CEOS of multinational corporations. The American government would be the cream of the crop. The highest-performing people are CEOS, so why not make these people the leaders of America?
It’s important to remember that Corporate States America is the truest embrace of capitalism. It unleashes the power of the free market and resurrects the decaying government into a powerful institution. Therefore, we should replace our existing government with a Corporate State.
