A Legendary Homecoming Java Performance
It was another magical Thursday night at the Java Barn this week. We kicked off Homecoming weekend with a three-band night featuring Stuydeyed, The Nude Party, and Le Grotto.
Stuydeyed took the stage at 10 p.m. and elevated the Java Barn to a new level of hype with their heavy-hitting set. Following up was a highly anticipated group from Livingston Manor, NY. The Nude Party took the stage for the second time ever at the Java Barn, and although their name may have you thinking the contrary, their stage presence was nothing short of amazing. It is a rare occasion to have a group at the venue that brings the passion and resembles the brotherhood of a traveling band better than these guys.
The Nude Party was formed in the college town of Boone, N.C., but has since relocated to a ranch nestled deep in the Catskill mountains of Southern N.Y., where they live together.
Although The Nude Party has been touring across the United States, they still managed to cite the Java Barn in a recent interview as one of the most memorable music experiences of their young careers.
This type of recognition should not go unnoticed in such as a small community of music lovers. The Nude Party is one of many reasons why the Java Barn is, and continues to be, such a staple in the St. Lawrence community.
Le Grotto finished out the show on a strong note, drawing in an intimate late-night crowd. Le Grotto features a mix of beach and heavy rock vibes. The band has been based out of Olympia, Wash., but that hasn’t stopped them from reaching the Java Barn twice already.
Overall, it was an amazing start to a stellar weekend here at St. Lawrence University. We here at the Java Barn look forward to another amazing year on campus!
