Tampa Tom Leads Buccs to 2021 NFC Championship

After having an MVP caliber year, Aaron Rodgers led the 13-3 Green Bay Packers (with a good defense) to the NFC Championship game at Lambeau Field. He threw for almost 4,300 yards this season, with a 70 completion percentage, with 48 touchdowns and only 5 interceptions. It was perfectly set up for Aaron to get to his second career Super Bowl… And he choked to the real GOAT. 

That’s right people! Tom Brady and his new team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, will become the first team ever to host a Super Bowl in their home stadium. After leaving New England last off-season Brady has again proved his doubters wrong by choosing to take a 7-9 Bucs team and propel them to the Super Bowl in his first year with the team, during a pandemic. This season was one of Brady’s best. He threw for over 4,600 yards with 40 touchdowns, and a 66 completion percentage.

Coming into the NFC Championship most experts and pundits believed that Brady and the Bucs would falter under the cold of Green Bay, Wisconsin. On Brady’s first drive, he threw for 56 yards and scored at touchdown to Mike Evans setting the tone for a game in which the Packers never had the lead once, as they lost 31-26.

The Packers had some coaching blunders throughout the game. The Packers, who have one of the best offensive lines in the league allowed Aaron to be sacked 5 times. What was also unusual about the Packers day was two giveaways that the Bucs took advantage of to create 14 points. One of the bigger blunders came at the end of the first half. Where with mere seconds left on the clock, Brady threw a 39 yard TD pass to Scotty Miller in a play that had horrible defense as the Packers chose to play man coverage with one safety over the middle. Brady recognized it and threw a bomb giving the Bucs a 21-10 at halftime. 

Still, Green Bay started to comeback in the second half, picking off Brady 3 times (2 were his fault). And with 4 and a half minutes left in the game Rodgers began driving down the field behind by 8 points. After getting into the within the 10 yard-line the Packers could not get into the endzone on 3 downs, Packers coach Matt LaFleur made the bonehead decision of not going for the touchdown to possibly tie the game, electing to kick a field goal. 

He then kicked the ball to Tom Brady and forced his defense to try and prevent him from getting a first down… Of course that didn’t work and the Bucs ran out the clock to win the game. Matt LaFleur’s decision was questioned by almost everyone in the media and Brady’s haters have had to come out of the closet to admit defeat. 

Oh how sweet it is knowing who the real GOAT is, and how bad this makes old grumpy Belichick look.
