Predictions for the 2023-24 NFL Season

0

On Sep. 7, 2023, the 2023-24 NFL Season will kick off with the Detroit Lions taking on the defending Super Bowl Champions, the Kansas City Chiefs. In this article, I will be giving my predictions for the upcoming season.

AFC Playoffs:

Kansas City Chiefs (14-3): No surprise here; I think the Chiefs, led by star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, will earn the #1 seed in the AFC for the second consecutive season.

Cincinnati Bengals (13-4): The Bengals have established themselves as one of the best teams in the NFL and came close to beating the Chiefs for the fourth consecutive time in last year’s AFC Championship. They are the Chiefs biggest challenger in the AFC right now.

Buffalo Bills (13-4): The Bills had a very disappointing end to last season, being handily beaten by the Bengals in the Divisional Round. I think they will have another good regular season and could challenge the Bengals and Chiefs for the top team in the AFC.

Jacksonville Jaguars (11-6): The Jaguars had a successful 2022-23 season, winning the AFC South and a Wild Card Round playoff game. I think will build on this success and once again win their division.

New York Jets (11-6): With the acquisition of Aaron Rodgers in the offseason, the Jets have positioned themselves as contenders in the AFC. While I still think the Bills will win the AFC East, the Jets will be close behind and will earn the top Wild Card spot.

Baltimore Ravens (10-7): The Ravens were a good team in 2022, making the playoffs with a 10-7 record, but quarterback Lamar Jackson was injured in Week 13 and did not play after that for the rest of the season. With Jackson back for this season, if he can stay healthy, I think the Ravens are contenders in the AFC.

Los Angeles Chargers (10-7): I predict the Chargers will have a similar season as their 2022 season and finish with a 10-7 record again and will get the last wild card spot.

NFC Playoffs:

Philadelphia Eagles (15-2): Just like in the AFC, I predict that the number one seed in the NFC will be the same as last season, with the Eagles earning the number one seed and having the best record in football in 2023-24.

San Francisco 49ers (13-4): Last season, the 49ers won twelve games in a row before the NFC Championship game, when quarterback Brock Purdy was injured, and they lost to the Eagles. They look to be just as good as they were last year, and I predict they will get the number two seed.

Detroit Lions (11-6): The Vikings won the NFC North by four games last season, finishing with a 13-4 record. Even though they had a 13-4 record, the Vikings had a -3-point differential for the regular season and lost in the first round of the playoffs. I think the Vikings will be worse this year and the Lions, who went 9-8 last year, will be better, with the Lions winning the division.

New Orleans Saints (9-8): The Saints signed quarterback Derek Carr this offseason, which gives them the best QB in the NFC South, which I think will be enough to give them the NFC South division title.

Dallas Cowboys (11-6): The Cowboys will have another solid season in 2023-24, but because they are in the same division as the Eagles, will once again be the NFC’s top wild card team.

Minnesota Vikings (10-7): While they won’t have as good of a record as last season, the Vikings will still be good enough to make the Playoffs in 2023-24.

New York Giants (9-8): The Giants signed Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley to new contracts this offseason, and I predict they will have a similar record as last season and once again make the playoffs.
