Texas Rangers Win First Ever World Series

0

With the 2023 MLB season now complete, the Texas Rangers have come out victorious. Beating the other 29 teams in the league, the Texas Rangers have won their first championship in franchise history.

Both Corey Seager and Adolis Garcia stood out as stars of the series for the offensive side, and on the defensive side you have Nathan Eovaldi. The Rangers clinched the championship with a resounding 5-0 win in game five to win the series three ganes to one over the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Eovaldi was dominant on the mound for the Rangers, pitching six scoreless innings and only giving up four hits while having five strikeouts. Mitch Garver hit an RBI single in the top of the seventh inning to give the Rangers the league, and they added four more runs in the top of the ninth. Manager Bruce Bochy also notched his fourth World Series win as a manager, the other three being with the San Francisco Giants in 2010, 2012, and 2014.

This season was particularly special though for Bochy as he entered a special group of managers who have won four World Series titles, a group that includes the likes of Walter Alston with the Dodgers and Joe Torre with the Yankees.

Even more special for the Rangers, their last two season have been completed with losing records, and the only other two times they had made the World Series, it had ended with them losing in dramatic fashion. This was a great year for Rangers fans, and a great year for the organization as a whole, as prior to the win they were among the only six teams in the entire league to never have won a World Series.

That number is now down to five. All told, this was a special year for the Rangers and Bochy and will certainly be one to remember.

Looking ahead to next season, the Atlanta Braves have emerged as the early favorite, being given the best odds at +650 to win the 2024 World Series. The Los Angeles Dodgers have the second-best odds at seven to one, with the Houston Astros and the Rangers following with nine to one odds.

As this season showed, however, anything can happen in baseball, and there are definitely many teams that have a chance to win next year’s World Series
