Justice? Don’t Brett on It

1

Brett Kavanaugh proves that you can get away with anything, and still get everything, as long as you’re a rich white man. Dr. Christine Blasey Ford proves that you can accomplish anything, suffer everything, and still get nothing, as long as you’re a woman.

I won’t resurface all the details. We know them already. It takes rather little skill to juxtapose Brett’s testimony with Dr. Ford’s and deduce which one is the lying opportunist. The sheer audacity of the condescending prig makes me wanna puke. In all likelihood, the hysterical frat-boy is guilty of multiple counts of sexual violence. But unlike Republicans with Dr. Ford, let me extend Brett the benefit of the doubt. Even if he were innocent, which he isn’t, his bipolar eruptions and bare-naked partisanship disqualify him already. Add to this the fact that he’s a radical conservative and, voila, women’s rights have all but vanished.

And yet we’ve come too far. Speculation regarding what he may or may not do as a Supreme Court Justice is already surplus. Someone facing multiple, credible sexual-assault accusations does not belong in a Wendy’s, let alone a court of law—save to stand trial.

Moreover, we mustn’t forget why Brett Kavanaugh was nominated in the first place. It has absolutely nothing to do with anything other than his stance on presidential immunity. Fantastically, he denies that sitting-presidents can be indicted for crimes. Brett actually believes that presidents are above the law (Unless, of course, they are black or their name ends with Clinton). How convenient, considering our current traitor-in-chief rightly fears impeachment. Trump must therefore implant the sycophant who will pardon him; and quickly, before the midterms sweep away his servile supplicants in congress. I suppose all rapists and narcissists are brothers under the skin.

To make matters worse, the Republicans who insist swift confirmation of this sex predator are the same ones who refused even to hold a hearing for the bipartisan and untainted Merrick Garland. The Republicans robbed him of his rightful place on the bench. Now the invalid Neil Gorsuch profanes his seat. Brett Kavanaugh will follow thanklessly along. Considering the sinister influence the two will wield over a generation, the wounds of this injustice may never heal. Nor will they ever be forgiven or forgot.

It’s safe to say that the ironies and hypocrisies of the GOP’s sordid affair with Brett Kavanaugh stretch to infinity. I am not, however, wasting precious anger on Kavanaugh or even Trump. Both creatures are repulsive and every sane person sees it. The real lesson here is that one simply cannot be a morally serious or responsible citizen and cast a ballot for the Republican Party. It can’t be done.

The sole reason that neither of them are rotting behind bars where they belong is because the GOP, in its entirety, has surrendered principles for power. Our changing demography threatens to render the Republican creed extinct. Thus they champion even crackpots and pedophiles, so long as they can scare the votes out of sweaty white boys.

Republicans, in their masturbatory zeal to confirm Kavanaugh, once again prove themselves nothing more than Machiavellian misogynists. Frankly, they don’t care whether Dr. Ford was violated. They don’t care whether Brett Kavanaugh is a dangerous predator. They don’t even care that he’s manifestly unsuited to adjudicate. They care only that he will protect his fellow predator from impeachment, and cement conservative hegemony over the Supreme Court. That he will also reverse liberal protections and retard progress for a generation is just additional profit.

This sick strategy won’t work forever. Republicans are making themselves prisoners of their own actions. Because of Trump, and therefore because of the GOP, America is fractured and febrile. Once cooler heads prevail—or once older heads die off—that will be the end of their fraud against the American people, who now know that Republicans will sink to the depth of infinity to sustain, even for a second, the high of power.

But us liberals should not strut so proud. Democrats, in their futile attempts to combat the pious old predator (Brett, I mean, not Trump), once again prove limp and craven. Prostrate with shock, we fail to frustrate the vilest men in politics. It should be easy. The party of “family values” runs rapists. Alas, we fear offending even the most heinous offenders. So stiff a posture has snapped the spine. Politely, we point-out their hypocrisy, making the category error of assuming they care. Of our flaccid Democrats, it can at least be said that the mind and heart are where they should be, though the testicles wander.

Congressional Republicans have no heart. Their base has no brains. And neither have shame. The wrinkled and decrepit creeps who support Brett Kavanaugh and vilify victims of their own violence will soon expire. But their evil legacies will live forever.

This is disgusting and borderline slander. Is this an opinons or humor page? Evidence, evidence, evidence- I see no evidence. I hope this wasn’t a college student who wrote this- sounds like something I’d hear from a crying 10 year old. This is not what our country is about- the US is about due process, res ipsa loquitar, and justice (not social justice btw). The left is not immune to sexual crimes and allegations- John Conyers, Louis Ck, Harvey Weinstein, Al Franken, etc. I agree that Kavanaugh wasn’t the most unbiased choice for supreme court, but guess what- neither were Ginsburg, Kennedy, Kagan, and Sotomayor. And as much as I appreciate Dr. Ford’s testimony, I cannot believe her enough to illegitimize Kavanaugh without consistent 3rd party testimonies or physical evidence. No to mention Dr. Ford’s mandated conditions to testify detract just as much from her testimony as Kavanaugh’s anger detracted from his. Is an FBI investigation not enough to convince the left?- maybe Feinstein should have said something sooner (not that it would matter TBH)! You are basically labelling 60-70 million US republicans as “deplorables” in this article by doing the same to the men and women they vote for- essentially, what was Hillary’s fatal ’16 mistake. Do you want to know why Trump and Kavanaugh are in and the left hasn’t been? As Jeff Daniels said, “Do you know why no one likes liberals? They lose. If liberals are so F***’n smart then why do the lose so Goddam often?!” Keep it up, because people like you are the ones who instigate civil conflict and war.
