Dear Dub: Condoms, Plan B, Virginity?

Dear Dub, where can I find condoms on a Saturday night? 

Hello! You can find condoms in any freshman dorm, as there should be some on the bulletin boards put up by CAs. You can come on over to the Dub (3 University Ave.) and we have a wide variety in our vestibule. No need to even ask any of us for some! There are also condom dispensers in some bathrooms on campus, but I think you will have the best luck in freshman dorms or at the Dub. 

Dear Dub, where can I buy a vibrator/sex toy? 

You can usually find a selection of sex toys at the local Walgreens in the “sexual health” section. There are also some at Walmart in Potsdam, or anywhere online. The Dub will be putting on a raffle for sex toys after Thanksgiving break, so check that out as well! 

Dear Dub, what do I do when someone comments about me on YikYak? 

If it is a positive comment and you are into it, try to find them! I think that using @slumissedconnections would also be a great resource as a call-out to see who the person is through the comments section rather than using a completely anonymous app. If it is a negative comment, report it! Not cool. You can also have others down-vote it to have the comment removed completely. 

Dear Dub, can he tell that I am a virgin? 

In the end, what matters is what YOU want. If you want the individual to know you’re a virgin and you’re comfortable having that conversation, do it! If not, let that be your own thing and only share that information when you are ready to.  

Dear Dub, do you have to take the pill (Plan B) on the day after for it to work? 

When you take Plan B, the best time to take it is as soon as possible (about 12 hours after unprotected sex). The pill is 95 percent effective if you take it within 24 hours, and if you wait 48-72 hours (two to. three days), the effectiveness drops to about 60 percent. You know that Plan B has worked when you get your period! Whoop whoop! Plan B can be expensive, so it is important to have protected sex. However, if you ever do need Plan B, the Dub has gift cards that you can grab from our house, so you don’t have to pay the full 50 dollars, just direct message our Instagram (@sludub) or ask someone from the house.
