In Memoriam: Enzo Corigliano ’22
On December 12, 2020, St. Lawrence University lost one of its brightest and kindest students, Enzo Corigliano. Known as Zozo to his friends, Enzo was a Performance and Communication Arts and Francophone Studies double major and a member of St. Lawrence University’s squash team. From La Flèche, France, Enzo was also a part of the international community at St. Lawrence. Everyone who knew Enzo knew his warm smile, infectious laugh, and genuine friendship. He was the kind of person who always stopped to say hello and check in. The incredible memories of Enzo his friends have shared do not even come close to highlighting the true impact he had on all who met him. Enzo left a powerful mark on the Laurentian community and his light will never be forgotten.

Mon Frèrot:
He’d color the world, and light it up too,
All smiles on his face, he was truer than true.
Capricious in spirit, a breath of fresh air,
He refreshed the world, with his own special flair
Defiant to the last, a cut above the rest,
He was born to stand out, the best of the best.
Rather small but mighty,
he proved size didn’t matter
The biggest of hearts, he could turn upside down,
With the greatest of ease, anyone’s frown.
A cheerful warm balm, every cloud’s silver lining
A brother and friend, his love did reach far.
That’s how we know he’ll keep shining,
The brightest even amongst the stars.
Jenny Corigliano, Enzo’s mother, on behalf of herself and Grégory Corigliano, Enzo’s father
Enzo is now back home
I fell like he enjoyed so much his life in St Lawrence that he would stay forever. He was such a wonderful son to me and his dad, such a protector brother for his brother and sister and such an amazing friend for those in his life. But a month ago now I realized that he was so alone even if I focused on him I saw nothing
Guys, please take care of each other and please do not think that you are alone. You are never alone: there is always somebody there for you. And if you are thinking life is a big mess today, tomorrow is another day. There will for sure be a good day one day so wait for it.
That’s what I would have loved to tell him.

RIP December 12th 2020
It breaks my heart to lose an amazing Squash player, an amazing Captain and an amazing friend.
Enzo touched so many people worldwide with his infectious smile and boundless amounts of positive energy that was infectious to our team and our coaching staff.
He had a following at St Lawrence but also around the country for his talent of squash and this will be felt worldwide in the close knit squash community.
We always say someone will be missed but we will all feel his energy around us here at SLU forever.

Wanderer’s Night Song: Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Audessus de tous les sommets
il y a du calme
Dans toutes les branches
il n’y a guère une brise
Les petits oiseaux se taisent
dans la forêt
Attends un peu
bientôt toi aussi
tu te reposeras
Over the high peaks
there is calm
Through the branches
one feels scarcely a breath of air
Little birds have fallen silent
in the forest
Just wait a bit
soon you too
will be at peace
