Food Waste Presentation
Food waste is a large issue at universities that contributes to climate change and schools have been urged to take action. St. Lawrence University collaborated with Clarkson University and Compost for Good on a P21 grant that will help fund research to help other institutions calculate and address their own food waste impacts as well as analyze and compare the food waste systems of local universities. SLU students have been working with dining services and facility operations to collect data that influences our own students’ decisions when it comes to food waste. Dr. Lori Clark, assistant professor in environmental studies, will be leading an event presented by the Office of Sustainability to discuss the new research on food waste. The lunch and learn event is this upcoming Tuesday, November 12, from 12 p.m. to 12:50 p.m., in Carnegie Hall Auditorium (Room 010).
