Destress for Finals
Finals are coming up next week and it can be a difficult time to focus. Here are some events on campus to help you destress during the final days of the semester, and tips from The Hill News Staff!
Destress Day, Friday, April 9, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
There will be indoor roller-skating, jewelry making, plate smashing and more at event in the Student Center, sponsored by ACE, Thelmo Student Wellness Committee, and CBL wellness team.
Finals Week Meditation, Monday, April 12, 7:30 p.m.
Learn seated meditation and share experiences with other students! This event is sponsored by Student Activities and Leadership and will take place in the Hannon Room on the third floor of the Student Center
Chris Denham, Editor-in-Chief: Get out of your dorm room and leave your phone there! I like to find spots in the Student Center, in ODY, or outside to work. And don’t bring your phone, so you don’t get distracted. Playing music on your computer while you work is great too!
Margaret Dener, Managing Editor: Go for a walk as a study break! I find the trails and being outside very calming and enjoy listening to some music or calling a friend to take my mind off work.
Julia Baldasaro, Copy Editor: Go to the library and outline all essays to take the pressure off when you actually have to write them.
Ibby Javed, A & E Editor: Divide your time among your subjects so you don’t get too stressed on one assignment.
Olivia Kremer, Sports Editor: Clean your room before finals week begins. Having an organized space helps clear your mind and allows for better focus and productivity.
Tina Luchetta, Co News Editor: If you have a lot of energy and often have a hard time concentrating (story of my life) try playing some of your favorite tunes and dancing around. It’s usually pretty fun, I promise!
