Times Op-ed Reveals Executive Crisis

0

The New York Times recently released a shocking anonymous op-ed written by an unnamed senior official from Trump’s Administration about what really happens behind closed doors at the White House. In the op-ed, the anonymous official writes that Trump acts “in a manner that is detrimental to the health of our Republic.” The senior official goes on to explain how there is a group of people within the White House who are actively working to curb some of President Donald Trump’s “worst inclinations” when it comes to him dealing with national issues.

It was leaked that what we are seeing from the President is watered down as the administration does everything in its power to censor his actions. According to this anonymous source, members of the President’s own cabinet have even considered using the 25th Amendment to start a complicated process to remove Trump from office. However no one in the administration wanted to “precipitate a constitutional crisis” wrote the anonymous senior official.

This White House official wants to be able to “steer the administration in the right direction” with hopes that “one way or another,” Trump’s presidency ends and does not sustain a second term. They claim that members of the Executive Branch have even gone as far as to remove sensitive documents from Donald Trump’s desk in hopes that he never sees them and gets a chance to comment or act on them. Even though the purpose of the 25th Amendment is to allow for the administration to legally go through the process of removing the President, there is hesitancy to do so over fear of what that would mean for America’s future.

“It may be cold comfort in this chaotic era, but Americans should know that there are adults in the room. We fully recognize what is happening. And we are trying to do what’s right even when Donald Trump won’t,” the White House official wrote in an attempt to comfort the public.

This crisis is being corroborated by legendary journalist Bob Woodward who has been writing about presidents for the past 50 years, and was one of the first people to report on the Watergate scandal that led Nixon to resign. He verifies that the White House is currently in the midst of a “nervous breakdown.” In Woodward’s book he reveals how former economics advisor Gary Cohn prevented Trump’s withdrawal from a trade agreement with South Korea by removing a letter from his desk before the President even got the chance to look at it.

With actions as simple as removing a document from the President’s desk, the White House official says, they try to prevent Trump from making major policy decisions. So far, they say, these tactics are what has kept our country functioning.
