When we meet with students to help them write and build their resumes, we often hear them say that they wish they had more real-world experiences. To be sure, internship experiences can help you build a resume and craft a career narrative. 

One way you can start to build that career narrative is through micro-internships with Parker Dewey. 

Micro-internships are short-term, PAID, professional assignments that are similar to those given to new hires. These projects enable students to demonstrate skills, explore career paths and build their networks. Unlike traditional internships, micro-internships can take place year-round, typically range from five to 40 hours of work, and are due between one week and one month after kick-off. 

The best way to explore various career paths is by doing the work that you’d do as an employee, and micro-internships are low-stakes opportunities to get your feet wet in various career fields. In addition to learning about career fields, you’ll also gain valuable information about company culture and the types of working environments where you thrive.

The process is simple! You create a profile, check out the available micro-internships, apply for the ones that interest you. When you’re selected for a micro-internship, you work directly for the company requesting the work. You will be paid directly by Dewey once your project is complete.
