Transport Updates

With Thanksgiving break quickly approaching, it’s high time to finalize your travel plans. After checking in with St. Lawrence’s transportation services, here are some important details you’ll want to keep in mind.

The University has updated its shuttle schedule to major airports to better align with student travel times. If you’re flying in or out of Syracuse, you will now have four shuttle departures from campus at: 7:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 3:00 p.m., 6:30 p.m.

If you’re returning from Syracuse, the shuttles will pick you up at: 5:30 A.M., 10:00 A.M., 2:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m., 10:00 p.m.

These times are based on students’ flight schedules, so be sure to check your specific flight times to make sure you’re on track.

For those flying in or out of Massena Airport, there will be three shuttle departures from campus: 6:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 4:00 p.m.

Return trips from Massena will be at: 12:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m., 9:30 p.m.

The shuttle times for Ogdensburg Airport are similarly tailored to flight schedules, with shuttles leaving campus at: 9:00 a.m., 3:00 p.m., and will be picking up from Ogdensburg at: 11:30 a.m., 4:30 p.m.

One important thing to keep in mind: shuttle services won’t be available on 11/28 and 11/29, and the transportation team. won’t be able to respond to requests from 3:00 p.m. on 11/27 until 7:00 a.m. on 11/30. This is because they will be taking time off to spend with their families, so it is best to reach out before or after those dates if you need help.

Another change to note is for early morning shuttle departures. If you’re catching a shuttle before 7:00 a.m., you will now need to meet at the back of the Student Center, near Rebert Hall and the intercampus parking spaces. This new location is due to the security office not being accessible before 7:00 a.m.

From a student perspective, while the changes might cause some minor inconvenience, they are meant to make things easier for everyone in the long run. The transportation office is doing its best to keep things running smoothly during the busy Thanksgiving travel period. Whether you’re heading home or traveling somewhere else, I hope this overview of the updated schedules helps make your travel plans a little smoother.

Wishing everyone a safe, stress-free, and enjoyable Thanksgiving travel experience!
