Java Jams
Missing Thursday night Java shows? Well, your local java beans sure are. Our Thursday nights just haven’t been the same without all your glittery, smiling faces dancing through the venue. Since we haven’t been able to thrash and jam out in person with all of you, at least for the time being, we’ve had some time to get a bit creative.
And thanks to one of the newest editions to the Java house (shoutout to Maddie O) we’re excited to announce that we’ll be hosting a radio show every Thursday this semester, starting Feb. 25, 8:30-10:30pm.
“I got the idea to make the radio show when one night me and my friends had a listening party on Spotify so we could all jam to the same music from our respective locations,” Maddie Olaynack ’23 stated, “and realized that this would be so cool to share with a larger audience.” Soon after, Olaynack pitched her idea to the house.
“We realized that KSLU would be the perfect place to have a listening party with all of SLU,” Olaynack said. “And thanks to President of KSLU Henry Hanson ’22 we were able to gain access to the equipment and recording space.”
“I’m grateful to KSLU for giving Java a platform to connect with the student body after such a long hiatus,” said Abi Todd ’21. “Especially when Java shows and social connection go so hand in hand,” she continued. And we look forward to connecting with you all this coming Thursday.
“It’s an exciting step for [us] to get involved in new ways,” Todd further stated, “plus it will be really fun, so tune in!”
