Environmental Tip of the Week
By Jack Gillooly
Wash dishes less frequently.
It’s easy to save water when using a dishwasher! Dishwashers use the same amount of water no matter how full or empty they are. Often, dishwashers use up to 12 gallons of water per cycle, so if you’re running the machine, even when it’s half full, you’re wasting 6 gallons of water.
So for our lucky townhouse friends who have the luxury not to hand wash, be conscious of when you run your machine! It might seem trivial, but if every townhouse tried their best, we could really make a difference with our overall water consumption.
