The Southwest Bowl, a meal from Spartacus, deserves to be featured. It is a meal that provides nutrition, protein and a fulfilling lunch.
The campus of St. Lawrence University struggles to provide healthy food, which is understandable considering the entire economics behind it. Although, Spartacus tries to bridge this issue by providing on of the healthiest lunches on campus. The Southwest Bowl consists of grains, chicken (if you want), beans, corn, onion and peppers. While it may seem small or pointless, on this campus it is great. Packed with protein, nutrients and other vital minerals. The meal is perfect for college students to try.
The taste is not too complex, hot or dry. Rather, it is a nice mix of crunch, chipotle sauce and taste. The substance of the meal is something that does not feel “imported” from a truck. Rather, it tastes as fresh as something from the garden.
During my time here at St. Lawrence, I have struggled for nearly two years in an attempt to find something worth eating. Many faculty would agree that often the food is not healthy. Upset stomach, headaches and drowsiness are all symptoms that come with most meals here at St. Lawrence. Although, Spartacus is great at changing that. For the first time in a while, I can have a lunch without the feeling of death. If any student on campus wishes to perform, feel and work better. The Southwest Bowl is a great place to start.
The Southwest Bowl is not the only meal, as there are a couple different packed salads which provide substance. Ranging from a Greek Bowl to a Caeser Salad, or even a Thai Noodle Bowl. All providing an already great, filling and tasty meal. Spartacus, located on the far side of Kirk Douglas, is definitely worth trying. I would highly recommend to any student to order a Southwest Bowl and enjoy a completely different academic experience at St. Lawrence.
