Introducing the Battle for Fall Fest Student Opener: Parker Densmore! Densmore is a senior majoring in Geology and Film here at St. Lawrence. He is a New Hampshire native from Hanover and is a member of the Outing Club. We sat down with him on the afternoon of Wednesday, September 19 to learn what he had in store for this year’s Fall Fest extravaganza.
Q: When did your interest in music begin?
A: “Probably around 6th or 7th grade when I heard electronic music for the first time.”
Q: Are you involved in any music-related clubs/organizations on campus? If not, why not?
A: “No, that’s mostly because I am pretty bad with instruments, but thats why I got into DJ-ing in the first place. I do, however, spend a lot of my time looking for new music.”
Q: Is music a hobby for you or a possible future profession?
A: “I’d say a hobby. I think it would be really cool if I could turn it into a profession, but I also think I would need to be way better at it than I currently am.”
Q: What made you want to audition to open Fall Fest?
A: “Last year performing at Spring Fest was really fun. On top of that, Java is one of my favorite venues to perform at. At Java you are so close to the audience and the venue itself is really colorful. Last time I performed there, it was honestly one of the best 15 minutes of my life so I really wanted to push myself to do it again.”
Q: What do you like about performing?
A: “I really like making people happy and I feel like playing music for a crowd is the best way to make so many people happy at once.”
Q: Are you excited to open for B.o.B.?
A: “So excited, it’s so crazy to be opening for someone who’s music I used to listen to.”
Q: What can we expect from you at Fall Fest?
A: “I have really never been more stoked about a set list and I’m hoping everyone else will love it just as much.”
Make sure to catch Parker Densmore this Friday, September 21 opening for B.o.B. at this year’s Fall Fest concert.
