10 Truths of Fallfest or What We Learned from Ryn Weaver and Hippie Sabotage

1. Most of SLU was relatively unfamiliar with the selected performers when they were first announced, but by the end of the week their hits records could be heard pulsing through open windows around campus.

2. The ACE snack table backstage is a drunk munchie mecca of high fructose corn syrup and sodium infused indulgence.

3. Ryn Weaver came to Canton without socks and had to detour to Walmart for a pair.

4. Weaver’s first record was inspired after escaping a terrible relationship, getting into a really good one, and then ending that one after realizing she needed to seek validation in herself in order to truly come into her own.

5. The songstress spent time at NYC’s Fashion Week before trekking up to SLU. She’s been living with friends in the city and will be relocating to Harlem (with her cat) soon.

6. She advises us to be persistent in what we want. In her own words: “hustle, ladies!”

7. Before mixing beats with his brother, Hippie Kevin Saurer was a political science major. He once aspired to be “Karl Rove for the good guys”- someone who will win elections for the liberals.

8. Kevin, though a Sanders supporter during primary season, does not have a very good Bernie impression. Don’t ask him to do one.

9. Hippie Sabotage’s tour manager requests jerseys from every college that they perform at. They’ve amassed three so far, which makes an official collection.

10. Both groups proved they weren’t above a small town get down when they joined SLU students at the Hoot Owl after the show. Ryn Weaver loves a good selfie and has certainly mastered the art of taking them.
