Preview for Annual Springfest April 2023
Springfest this year will be held tomorrow, April 15 on the intramural field. Doors open at 5 pm with the band Groupshower, Battle of the Bands winner, opening for Moxie and Neon Trees. Moxie is an indie rock band from Vermont that originated in 2017. Groupshower is a band straight out of St. Lawrence University, consisting of Taylor Beidler, Zach Effman, Finn Paulsen, Claire Johns, Cara Monteleone, Erin Reynolds, and Max Sabo.
Neon Trees is an American rock band that was formed in Utah in the early 2000s. The band members are Tyler Glenn, Chris Allen, Branden Campbell, and Elaine Bradley. Neon Trees is most known for their song “Everybody Talks” and “Animals.” I encourage everyone to be safe and to eat food and drink lots of water. As we are reaching the end of the school year, I hope this Springfest will be relaxing and exciting for all Laurentians.
Here are some fun facts about Neon Trees: Their band name was inspired by the neon-lit trees on the In-N-Out Burger sign in their hometown of Provo, Utah. The band members all met while attending college in Provo and started playing music together in 2005, and four members of the band are Mormon. Please be sure to respect others, arrive with your ticket, and genuinely have fun Saints!
The next couple of weeks are eventful for the St. Lawrence Community. Next Weekend we have the Greenhouse’ annual Folkfest which is a tradition here at SLU. Folk fest is also a music-based event but includes all bands from the North Country! The 2022- 2023 academic year is coming to an end, Saints! I hope you enjoy the rest of it and have a safe and exciting Springfest.
