Alternative Singer Dominic Fike: Up and Coming Fast
Last year, St. Lawrence had the privilege of having Dominic Fike headline for Spring Fest. Now, I am not entirely sure how much the school paid for Fike, but I reckon that performance by him is worth much more money now. Fike has been gaining popularity ever since his debut album “Don’t Forget About Me” was released in 2018. Fike then released “What Could Possibly Go Wrong” in 2020, with songs like “Superstar Sh*t” and “Why” gaining the most streams. After the release of his latest album, he began acting and is best known for his role as Elliot on HBO’s “Euphoria,” which stars Zendaya and Hunter Schafer. Anyway, I think it’s very clear that Fike has been successful since the release of his first album and it’s only going uphill for him. This year, Fike was invited to both weekends at Coachella. For those who don’t know, Coachella is an annual musical festival with very well-known artists. This festival, which takes place over the course of two weekends, gets over 250,000 visitors each year. This year, Fike was invited for his first Coachella performance, and he impressed everyone in the outdoor theatre. His performance at Coachella was well-organized and attention-drawing. His performance of “Why” from his album “What Could Possibly Go Wrong” was confident and has the perfect combination of vulnerability and passion. During this performance, he incorporated amazing vocals, electric guitar, and an autotuned microphone. This performance was articulated and organized well, which led to a genuinely breathtaking performance. Coachella’s invitation, nonetheless, his captivating performance, will definitely bring more eyes onto Fike. Many are saying that his set was the most sonically pleasing of Coachella’s performances. Fike recently released a new single called “Dancing in the Courthouse,” which has been gaining a lot of popularity as well.
To those of you who saw Fike last spring, you are very fortunate, because he is about to become headliner material; I’ve got a feeling that he is going to succeed even more in his career.
