Adam Lorenzo is an American author/writer known primarily for being a writer on “Everybody Hates Chris” and “Everybody Hates Raymond. Lorenzo has worked in film and television for twenty years now, but he is also a fantastic author. One of his most recent books is “All I Need to Know I learned from my College Bar”, has been gaining popularity fast. There were many people who contributed into the making of this book like Antonia Pinna (illustrator) as well as the publisher “Fayetteville Mafia Press” With the release of this book, I got the opportunity to talk to Lorenzo about his story and his inspirations for his new novel. Adam Lorenzo is originally from Buffalo, NY and graduated from Syracuse University in ‘95. Lorenzo was originally a political science major but changed his major to English after discovering his passion for writing. By his junior year in college, Lorenzo owned two bars which are the inspiration for this novel. Lorenzo owned “Maggie’s on the Hill” in Syracuse and “Maggie’s on the Bay” in Alexandra Bay.

Lorenzo says that the pandemic really got his writing career going, he began writing this book during this period of time. The inspiration for his book was his life, he used all his life lessons from college and incorporated it into this novel. Lorenzo always wanted to be a writer, so after college he moved to Los Angeles. Shortly after he moved to Los Angeles, he was immediately introduced to the film industry. During his first week in Los Angeles, he met George Clooney and Salma Hayek. With the release of this novel, Lorenzo hopes to target anyone in college who wants a good laugh and to give his readers a slice of hope. The “bar” in this novel can be used figuratively and literally; as Lorenzo describes, both a college campus and a bar is when people truly come together regardless of their differences.

College can be a scary time for anyone, especially for graduating seniors, so it’s important to know that you are allowed to take your time. I encourage anyone who feels a bit lost right now to pick up a copy of this book.

Lorenzo encourages everyone to do what they love and that it is never too late to pursue your dreams.
