New NorthStar Café Updates

“Pub” updates that started this January:

Saturdays— we are now open at 10 a.m. for breakfast and our late-night menu on Saturdays extends breakfast until midnight!

We installed a new fryer that is in our back kitchen that allows us to fry items that are gluten-friendly — now those who are celiac, or gluten intolerant have the opportunity to eat for example-gluten friendly chicken tenders, French fries, veggie sticks, wings and we are making our signature chips in our new fryer.

We started the Pasta Bake area. There are three different kinds of pasta available daily— one will always be gluten-friendly. Currently, we have alfredo and marinara for sauce choices, Protein toppings include gluten-free meatballs, plant-based meatballs, grilled chicken, and crispy fried chicken. All pasta bakes come with a garlic Knot or a gluten-friendly dinner roll.

New in grab and go/Jacks Corner:

Pasta pesto salad with sundried tomatoes and fresh mozzarella balls, gluten friendly pesto pasta with sundried tomatoes and fresh mozzarella balls, and tomato/cucumber/fresh mozzarella with roasted balsamic vinaigrette.

Two new racks dedicated to healthier snacks— including baked and organic chips and smartfood.

We added two new burgers to our Grill menu: Breakfast burger – our fresh certified Angus burger topped with bacon, cheese, and a fried egg — and the Haystack-topped with bacon, cheddar, and fried battered onions and BBQ sauce.

We have also made changes to some of our meal exchanges! Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday dinners are all brand new including our vegetarian options! Chicken and Biscuits, Beef Barbacoa Bowls, Chicken Cordon Bleu, and Meatball subs. General Tso’s is now on the menu for Sunday dinner. During January and February, the new Friday lunch special is turkey, bacon, cheddar chipotle ciabatta with roasted red pepper gouda soup. The vegetarian sandwich option is a sautéed spinach and tomato panini with melted cheddar. Also in January, we introduced the campus to Pizza Forno — our new pizza vending machine and we are hoping dining dollars will be up and running soon.

On the GET app under Kitchen 2 and Garden and Grains— a dedicated BYO salad bar that is also in our gluten-friendly zone— everything is gluten-friendly and made by our dedicated allergen champion team members! Salads start at $7.99 and include a choice of lettuce, salad dressings, and up to 10 toppings at no additional charge. There are 10 additional toppings are available to add at minimal cost (from 75 cents to $3.95).

New salads in grab and go/Jacks Corner including: Asian Noodle Salad, Seaweed Salad, Chicken Power Salad (six superfoods: broccoli stalks, kohlrabi, brussels sprouts, kale, radicchio, and colored carrots ) with honey ginger dressing!
