The snow is here, and the CIIS SLU signature program’s early decision and summer program application deadline is swiftly approaching! That’s right, Dec. 6th is right around the corner, and what better way to quell some of that end-of-semester chaos than sending in your application to Studio Abroad (by 11:59 p.m., of course)?
In case you haven’t kept up with our column or attended one of our CIIS events this semester, we are sharing some exciting news about St. Lawrence University’s standings in international education and off-campus study. If you need that last bit of convincing to send in your application, these stats from Open Doors Press might tip the scales.
Open Doors, sponsored by the Institute of International Education, is a comprehensive information resource on international students and scholars studying or teaching at higher education institutions in the United States, and U.S. students studying abroad for academic credit at their home colleges or universities. Following International Education Week, a series of events that takes place in numerous institutions across the country, schools are evaluated based on numerous criteria. SLU has climbed from 6th to 3rd in New York State in Baccalaureate off-campus study of all durations. Let’s go, Saints!
St. Lawrence has also climbed from 33th to 25th overall among the Leading Institutions for Baccalaureate Institutions. These numbers represent more than just a ranking; they demonstrate our university’s ongoing commitment and celebration of international education. Having students immerse themselves in other cultures and bring their learnings into to the classroom and beyond is something we pride ourselves on at SLU. It is wonderful to see our commitment to these values reflected in national rankings.
SLU has so many amazing programs to offer for off-campus study, and now you have the chance to be a part of our university’s commitment to international education. So, what are you waiting for? Send in that early decision to hear back sooner about acceptance, or apply to that summer course you have always dreamed of!
