Dean-Eaton Gets a Face Lift

On Wednesday, Dean-Eaton residents were greeted with an email giving an update on the exterior renovations of their dorm.

“We are pleased to announce that we have another facilities enhancement project which involves a new acrylic finish, to be applied onto the exterior of the West side of Dean-Eaton Hall,” wrote Liam Sullivan, the Residential Coordinator for First-Year & Sophomore Communities.

“We are applying a new stucco exterior to the building,” said Chris Marquart, Associate Dean of Student Life & Community Engagement.

“The second phase of the project will begin on Wednesday, September 11th and continue through Friday, September 27th.” Sullivan continued. The email reminds Dean Eaton residents to close their windows and draw the shades all the way down by 8am.

Work on the exterior will be conducted from around 8am to 5:30pm, with the email going on to list rooms that will be affected by this second round of exterior work.

“We appreciate your understanding and patience during this project and look forward to many more opportunities to improve the appearance of the campus,” Sullivan, on behalf of the Facilities Operations Team, concludes.

These visual updates are not without headache for the residents of Dean Eaton.

“I just dread the day I get an email, and my room number is on the list,” said Nora Kenyon ’27.
