Located at One University Ave, sits a little yellow house, known as the Artist Guild. It houses 9 visual artists interested in different mediums of art.
Our statement as the Artist Guild is to sustain artistic expression across campus with the idea that every person has the option to contribute to the world with their creativity.
Last Tuesday, (9/24) we hosted our first artist hour, where students could come and create art, weather they were working on art homework, or just de-stressing.
Artist hours are hosted frequently, so if you missed this first one, don’t worry, there are many more to come to!
Tomorrow, along with the Java house, we’ll be co-hosting Melon Fest, a celebration of student created art along with live music. Stop by the Java barn starting at 6PM to check out art, listen to music, and hang out.
If you feel like getting creative, outside there will be painting boards along with cans of paint, so get creative and do some painting.
If you feel like bringing something home to remember the event, there will be a tie dye station so you can make a colorful t-shirt! If all of that doesn’t sound exciting enough, there will be two local food trucks at the venue.
Bring your parents to show off all the amazing art your friends and classmates have done, all of this while listening to some amazing music. If you still want to submit art to show, email cxwats16@stlawu.edu.
When Melon fest ends, keep an eye out for upcoming events at our like mason jar painting, or make your own Live, Laugh, Love sign!
No experience is ever necessary to come to events, just bring your creativity and ideas and enjoy making some art. Join the list serve on Presence for any future events!
